Mysterious Death of Ghost Buster Gaurav Tiwari: Suicide or Possession?
On July 7, 2016, Gaurav Tiwari, a renowned paranormal investigator and ghost buster, was found dead under mysterious circumstances at his New Delhi apartment, where he lived with his parents and wife. At only 32 years old, he had recently been married just five months prior to his untimely passing.
The family of Tiwari reported that he went to take a shower around 11 a.m. and did not come out of the bathroom for an extended period. Tiwari’s father and wife heard a loud thud sound coming from the bathroom, as if someone had fallen on the floor. They became concerned and broke open the bathroom door to find Tiwari lying unconscious on the floor. He was taken to the hospital but unfortunately could not be saved.
Tiwari’s family stated that he seemed perfectly normal on the day of his death and was even checking his emails just minutes before passing away. Initially, his family, who do not believe in the paranormal, suspected that he may have died from falling and hitting his head on the bathroom floor.
The Delhi Police conducted an investigation into Tiwari’s death, including a search of his home and examination of his mobile phone, but did not find any conclusive evidence. The post-mortem report revealed that Tiwari had died from asphyxia and showed a dark black line around his neck, leading the police to suspect suicide as the cause of death.
During their questioning of Tiwari’s family members, the police learned that Tiwari had been experiencing marital problems with his wife, who suspected him of infidelity. The couple had argued for two hours the day before Tiwari’s death. Additionally, Tiwari’s profession as a paranormal investigator, which often required him to stay overnight at haunted locations, was also a source of tension in their relationship.
Tiwari’s family has expressed their disagreement with the suicide theory proposed by the police, stating that Tiwari had no motive to take his own life. They believe that Tiwari was killed by a supernatural force instead. The police have ruled out the possibility of a paranormal involvement in Tiwari’s death and have not provided a clear explanation for the strange black mark on his neck. The family finds the suicide theory offered by the police as inconclusive and are looking for answers.
The family of Gaurav Tiwari reported that Tiwari had previously shared with them that black line marks are a sign of revenge left by spirits in distress. Tiwari often used the example of the 1976 supernatural horror film, The Omen, to illustrate his theories on such markings.
“Despite admitting to not believing in ghosts, Mr. Tiwari’s father Uday – puzzled by his son’s death – said: “Gaurav told his wife a month ago that a negative force was pulling him towards it. He had said he was trying to control it but seemed unable to do so.
“My daughter-in-law ignored it thinking he was just depressed due to work overload and did not tell us about it.”
THE SUN
Tiwari’s last investigation was at a South Delhi residence where a couple reported being haunted by the spirit of a baby girl. The spirit had been appearing in their living room and bedroom. After an intense eight-hour operation by Tiwari and his team, the spirit was successfully exorcised from the home. Tiwari returned home at 2:00 a.m. the following day and was found dead.
Did Tiwari fall victim to one of the spirits that he had chased away or did he take his own life? The cause of Gaurav Tiwari’s death remains a mystery, much like the supernatural realm that he passionately explored.
